Floral Magic#2

Daisies are darlings...not much of hustling, no waste of time....😊

Floral magic#1

Believe me, I am pretty bad in painting flowers and it just takes the hell out of me, I am terrified of bringing about the exact colors and with a deadline, it's even worse. Took ages to get the real shade....Roses are lovely on branches.....🎢🎼

Sunshine beyond

I never painted such a big painting before. It was 69" in height and 36" in width. A totally different experience with a non fussy client with a beautiful house. I went with abstract theme as all the other works on their wall are abstracts and I didn't want to break the theme. Had real fun doing it.

Chugli(Gossip)

Another commission, crafted for one of our dear family friend, the demand for a folk based and colorful painting was enough to take my mind to the Santhals, their simple lifestyle, the Palash flower, red soil and mostly white attire, everything so color coordinated. To add to it , the nine figures that I drew resonated so well with me and my eight friends that everyone were thrilled watching the finished picture.

Commissions during Covid

A very late post though...all these lotuses were commissioned by one of my acquaintance. Her requirement was simple, each lotus must be unique in colour and shape. It was peak Covid, the second wave and I had plenty of time as I was quarantined, painting was the only way of keeping my mind  refreshed.

Kolkata nostalgia

The red house with its shutters in green and hanging balcony hovering above, the yellow taxi that's an icon and the hand pulled cycle rickshaw, Kolkata charms can make one nostalgic. Another commission work.

Kolkata vibes

A big commission work which demanded I incorporate few of the Kolkata elements like Howrah bridge and Dakshineswar Kali temple. Howrah bridge gave me some nightmares and I felt I had been doing some sort of Engineering drawing πŸ˜€. Playing with plenty of colours kept me going and the client loved it.

Avneesh

Lord of the world, without whose blessings I cannot think of starting a new venture.

A small round canvas of 18" diameter can actually be challenging but fun to work on. Textures had been my interest off late and this one is not exception.

Pure Bliss

It's undoubtedly a pure bliss to be able to create out of nothing. My unmindful abstraction continues......

Abstraction with texture#2

Acrylics can be fun, more so, if your mind is blank and thoughts do not relate. 😊

Abstraction with texture

Digimania

My boredom had given rise to my digimania once again.. Hope you all enjoy this mindless play of colors..

Getting crafty

Sometimes, it's fun to do best out of waste. 😊

Durga Puja fever

Two sculptures, two painted depictions, both, your own version....reason, your imperfections, half- hearted observation. The Aihole Mahishasurmardini on top becomes seven handed due to my own fault and gets a different style with a cosmic background, did I do this purposely, yes.

A silver statue from Gandhar period is mesmerizing, but, again, It became my own version, this time, a deliberate attempt.. I am evolving(?).. Probably.

Juhaal(kitchen)

Somewhere in the remote of Eastern part of India, the village kitchen looks the same as it looked years ago... As I painted this, the earthy smell of mud and wood mixed with the sweet fragrance of rice bring boiled filled my senses.

The Eternal Wait

Nandi, the vahana of Shiva waits outside his abode eternally and is considered as a symbol of ultimate patience and utmost loyalty...

The Begging Bowl...

Inspired from a panel of Ajanta, this painting nestled in an inconspicuous corner of a cave makes me highly emotional each time I look onto it. Story goes that Buddha, once attaining nirvana and adopting Bhukshutva, came to beg at his own doorsteps where he left his wife Yashodhara and infant son Rahula. Here, Rahula is about 8 years of age and is introduced to Buddha by Yashodhara...

Tranquility

Do I need to say anything?

Something nice

Again a commission work with lots of challenge and with only a text reference. Done on a canvas board with acrylic, I had to compose the work by keeping in mind to keep it as joyous as possible... Client loved it accomplished my achievement.

Sibling love..
