Deepawali brings home the colors and lights of the season and everyone around seems to be in a shopping spree for clothes, colors and lamps which brightens up everyones mood. I too jump into the bandwagon and search for the most attractive of all the paper lampshades found in the market. This year I thought to give it a try myself and after much effort and spoiling of papers, I came up with this...simple, bright and probably beautiful one.

Paper Tree and Paper Lotus
As Ganesh Chaturthi is coming closer...like every year I'm gearing up to decorate the Pooja place for my Aunty's place....Though I thought of making many more artifacts, I could manage a Big Tree made only of old newspapers and tinted chart papers.......my kid and my students did help me but time was too short and loads of works remained undone.
It was absolutely fun to teach my friends to make a paper lotus.....and they did an excellent job and I managed to assemble the huge petals after a little struggle.......but, they were all smiles and that made my day............

Paper Hibiscus
This year , paper Hibiscus was my agenda as a part of Ganapati Decoration...With Red Tinted and Crepe paper, Green tinted paper and some glitter, I came up with this. Used a few board pins for the pollens...:)
Ganapati Bappa looked gorgeous amongst the red petals of Hibiscus...will wait till next year for a new idea to crop up.......
