Trance

Once I came across a beautiful 'baul' singer...she mesmerized us with her haunting melodies...I could feel the stir around her as she sang and danced her way to everyone's heart.....while herself remained calm as if under a trance......that was soul stirring.....

The Gypsy Girl....

As I sit idly at home with my son, my fascination with the gypsies continue and I try yet another of their portraits.........thought of trying to capture some light too......

The Bend and the Road Sign......

The mists around the Tea plants..roads bending and disappearing in the fog to the unknown and the chill felt has an unearthly romantic feel.....only the Road sign standing bright and tall brings you to the real world.................

Tranquility....

As I get impatient with myself, I get pacified by the look of the tranquil face of Buddha.......

The Flow of life

Gushing water always remind me of the twists and turns of life....as each rock on the way of its journey reminds of the lessons of life.....the beautiful foams, the joy and the steep fall, the sorrows....that's why I call the flowing water...THE FLOW OF LIFE....

A Complete Woman....

As a child, I 'd be staring at the huge idol of Maa Durga in the Puja Mandap, awestruck by her stern yet beautiful face, the grandeur of her fineries and wonder why does she has to have ten hands....!! Now, I understand the symbolism behind every aspect of it. We don't call her mother for nothing...Her ten hands..symbolises the multitasking often done by all the mothers in every household around the world..and..her fiery demon demilition , if not destruction, at least rebellion against the social evils...She's flanked by her children as the Mothers always are....even in her work, her leisure. And her fineries, a woman's ever fascination for being the most charming and beautiful one.....A COMPLETE WOMAN...
